Vision Objects brings Pro-Activity and Performance to Oxford EASYBOOK M3

Caen, Nantes, France, April 21st, 2005, Vision Objects®, the worldwide leader in Handwriting Recognition Technology, announces its alliance with Papeteries Hamelin, the European leader for paper-based products. As part of an Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) agreement, Vision Objects’ handwriting recognition technology, MyScript®, is bringing handwriting recognition, search and write-to-action capabilities to the Oxford EASYBOOK® M³ Digital Notepad.

Are you fed up with retyping your notes on a PC? Had enough of spending valuable time on retrieving your handwritten notes? You could really use a solution to speed up the process of managing your notes? How about the EASYBOOK M³ doing it all for you! The Oxford EASYBOOK M³ is a digital notepad bringing pro-activity and performance to note taking. It is used with a digital pen that records your handwriting and sends it to your PC. Once synchronised with your computer, your handwritten notes are converted for automatic sorting and saving by date, folder and notebook.

Every now and then you might want to take a look at your handwritten notes, but you do not feel like spending ages on retrieving them. The EASYBOOK M3 comes with a user-friendly interface for displaying handwritten notes on your PC. This includes a search engine powered by MyScript Ink Search, which allows you to find the handwritten text you are looking for, simply by typing a keyword. “No more need to spend valuable time on searching your notes: this search engine allows the user to quickly find the information wanted” said Eric Joan, General Manager of Papeteries Hamelin. “By combining MyScript handwriting recognition capabilities, MyScript Ink Search and Smart Margins we have created an ideal tool for note takers: students, professionals, basically anyone interested in increasing productivity and reactivity.” Smart Margins is another innovative feature. With it, a user can select sections in his handwritten notes and attribute different actions to each of them. On a single sheet of paper, you can write an email, create an Excel sheet, a Word document and schedule a task. Just by adding a character in the margin!

There is no need to follow an imposed handwriting style or to "train" the program to recognise your handwriting style with the Oxford EASYBOOK M³ Digital Notepad; the handwriting recognition engine is operational from the first time it is used. “Extremely easy to use, the Oxford EASYBOOK M³ Digital Notepad increases your overall productivity, just by using pen and paper.” said Stefan Knerr CEO and founder of Vision Objects. “Smart Margins in particular provides a very valuable shortcut to action, exactly the functionality you would want to add to ordinary stationary”.

The EASYBOOK M³ Digital Notepad supports nine European languages: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, Dutch and Swedish, and is available through Oxford selected retailers.
