Vision Objects launches MyScript Equation SDK together with new releases of MyScript Builder, its award winning handwriting SDKs

Nantes (FRANCE), November 2011 - Vision Objects, worldwide leading provider of digital writing solutions, announced today the launch of two new releases of its Software Development Kit (SDK), MyScript Builder Standard Edition 4.8 and MyScript Builder Mobile Edition 1.1 in addition to MyScript Equation SDK.

Designed for software application developers, MyScript Builder is a set of development tools for creating handwriting input based applications that take full advantage of touchscreen, interactive whiteboard (IWB) and digital pen devices. MyScript Builder Standard Edition is designed for applications running Windows, Mac OS or Linux whilst MyScript Builder Mobile Edition is specifically designed to take full advantage mobile Internet tablets and smartphones running iOS or Android.

Handwriting recognition and more broadly digital ink management are key features that help transform content consumption tablets into true productivity tools. Document annotation, note taking, WYSIWYG form input are just some of the numerous application possibilities that MyScript Builder enables. Furthermore more than 85% of all Interactive Whiteboards sold in 2010 currently use MyScript to enable handwriting recognition. MyScript Equation, the new mathematical input recognition SDK, covers more than 150 mathematical symbols and characters and translates handwritten formulas to their equivalent MathML and LaTeX output. A web based example is available for trial at http://webdemo.visionobjects.com. This new SDK complements MyScript Shapes SDK released in 2011 that added geometrical shape recognition capabilities. MyScript Builder now provides a new optional feature, MyScript Text Input Method Extension, allowing developers to add handwriting capture and recognition much faster to their applications. Support for Romanian has been added along with accuracy improvements and extensions for Chinese, Korean and Japanese. Furthermore customers will experience a significant recognition performance increase ranging from 20% to 50% depending on language.
