Handwriting Recognition Application Available for Free Download to Mac Users — Customers Can Purchase Quickscript Beginning in April
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — Modbook® manufacturer Axiotron® today released the third and final public beta version of its Quickscript™ handwriting recognition application, offering performance and stability enhancements. Quickscript is now available for free download to Mac® users as a time-limited public beta at www.axiotron.com/quickscript. The application is compatible with Intel-based computers running Mac OS® X version 10.5.x (Leopard®) and Mac OS X version 10.6.x (Snow Leopard®).
Axiotron today also announced that Quickscript will be made available for purchase beginning in April 2010.
Quickscript provides highly accurate recognition of cursive handwriting, hand-printed text and isolated characters in 26 languages using state-of-the-art recognition technology developed by Vision Objects®. Its many convenient features include a pop-up text-entry pane, configurable interface, basic gesture support, personal dictionary and handwriting recognition training. Quickscript enables users to write in programs that accept text input such as Microsoft® Word, Excel®, Pages® and TextEdit.
An innovative aspect of Quickscript is the Kopernikus™ digital assistant feature. Through its native support of AppleScript®, Mac OS X’s built-in automation technology, Kopernikus lets users open applications and perform other tasks by writing commands in the Quickscript text-entry pane (functioning much like Mac OS X’s “Speech Recognition” feature). Support for more complex commands is planned for future versions of Kopernikus.
For users of the Modbook, Axiotron’s award-winning Mac tablet computer, Quickscript’s powerful recognition engine and intuitive interface turn the Modbook into a productive note-taking device that delivers robust conversion of handwriting into digital characters. Mac users who have pen tablet devices (such as those made by Wacom®) with the latest drivers can also benefit from Quickscript.
Quickscript comes pre-installed with an English (U.S.) language package and supports 26 languages, including Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic. Users can download and install any of the other language packages. A full list of the available language packages can be found at www.axiotron.com/quickscript.
More information about Quickscript and a free download of the application are available at www.axiotron.com/quickscript.
